Great time at a Rockabilly joint.

Voted to have some of the best wings in the city Holiday doesn't disappoint. It is a local dive looking bar with a sign that glitters in the sun that seems pretty unassuming. The drinks are decently priced and the people seem to enjoy working there.

What really makes Holiday fun though is their music nights. I don't know of many swing clubs left in Chicago and the fact that this place has a rockabilly night makes it that much better. So strap on your dancing shoes and get out your zoot suits and go have a good time at Holiday.

This place USED to be a wonder

I have been going here for about six years and for most of those years I was in love. The restaurant looks like something that was picked up from Paris and dropped in the middle of Chicago. Dark wood and French posters cover the walls and the outdoor garden is perfect for a romantic date in the summer.

...Or at least I used to think that until last week. Like I said I used to love this place but last week I lost it. Their once famed soup is now watered down and has no flavor and my mother ordered a chicken and mushroom crepe and the mushrooms were poured onto her crepe FROM A CAN. They weren't cooked and the can juices were even on her plate.

I was so disappointed I don't know what to say. I mean yes, we didn't have to pay for the crepe but that doesn't make up for the crappy food and how disappointed I was.

Creperie, call me when you get your act together again.

If I wanted a nightclub I would go to Excalibur.

I am a huge fan of eating out but not of nightclubs. I love being able to talk to the people I am with and Sushi Samba doesn't allow that. They seem to have the idea that I am a vapid diner who just wants to party and be some socialite which I find insulting at best. The waitstaff is stuck up and the atmosphere looks like a South Beach night club NOT a restaurant.

On top of it this place is expensive and they barely give you any food! I would expect at least some high quality lobster when I ordered the lobster sushi but it was rubbery and I only got three pieces for 20 bucks!

My friends and I were so hungry after we ate here we ended up going down the street to McDonald's in our nice dresses to get some fries so we could feel full. And to tell you the truth, the McDonald's fries were the same quality as the sushi at Samba.

Sushi divine

My friend and I love this place. The ambiance is beautiful and the staff is nice and very attentive to your needs. The music can get a little loud at times which can be annoying when you are trying to have a conversation but it is pretty rare for that to happen.

The food is heavenly. I suggest the rockstar rolls for they are some of the most complexly flavored sushi I have ever had. The other types of sushi like the California roll are also fantastic.

If you have money to spare and you want good sushi have a good time and feel full with Ra.

You'll drool like Homer Simpson over doughnuts.

This place became famous for its amazing bubble tea which you have to get when you go here. Their food is equally as amazing but make sure you go with a friend for they give you twice the amount of food you pay for and sharing is part of the fun with this restaurant.

The decor is the one thing I didn't really like. Its like they designed the whole place around an ideal 21st century restaurant and the clearance racks of Ikea. But this couldn't taake away from the amazing food and bright, sunny rooms.

Impressive looking but the food falls flat.

Out of all the restaurants in Chinatown the line to get into Phoenix is probably the longest and its all for decor. The restaurant is on the second floor of the building and has an impressive view.

When it comes down to it though, the decor and the carts of food that drive by the tables can't make up for the mediocre Dim Sum. I have had better dim sum at the smaller, less flashy places in the neighborhood and I am a firm believer that this place does so well for it attracts tourists.

if you want a nice atmosphere and some ok dim sum consider Phoenix but if you want better food, go somewhere else.

A true shocker in Roger's Park

I was helping my boyfriend move into his new place and after a long day of cleaning and organizing we were starving. So the two of us walked down to this little Chinese walk-in restaurant and we didn't expect much. This place is made to be a pick up and go home type of restaurant. Plastic benched tables and a long counter are the highlights of the establishment.

However when we got our food and actually started eating we were amazed. The food was better than good, it was out of this world. Their egg foo young was full of veggies and cooked to perfection and we ordered this strange honey chicken special with peaches in a honey mayo sauce and were dying for more. Yes, it sounds strange but you have to try it. Its out of this world good.

If you live in Roger's Park and feel like getting something to eat at home order food from China Hut, your tummy will thank you later.

Tired of giving your money to big corporations?

I love The Fixx coffee house. Its big, bright and the staff is made up of some of the nicest people I have ever encountered in any coffeehouse. They have big cups of joe and their Chai tea is xome of the best I have ever had.

They allow people to sit and work and they have had open mic nights in the past. I am not sure if they still do it but when I used to go it was great to see the amount of talent they had perform.

If you are tired of going for the generic coffee of Starbucks and actually want the amount of coffee (or tea) you pay for go to Fixx Coffee House, you won't regret it.

Maybe its only because I go here drunk....

There are very few places in the whole of Chicago that offers 24 hour dining...Except for Clark's that is. I first started going here when I first started getting drunk and staying out too late.
I would rather not say when that was for I might get in trouble with people who read this but lets just say it was before I could erm, legally be seen with a beer :-)

Anyway, Clark's offers traditional diner food with a staff that is always cracking jokes and having a good time. The tomato soup is a classic staple and won't disappoint and the coffee is nice and strong.

Even with its pluses though I am still not sure if I go here out of 6that fact that I am drunk and need carbs or that I am hungry and just want good food.

Either way Clark's is a great late night spot for anyone who needs something to soak up a night of partying on the cheap.

A fun little bar to watch the game.

Like all the places down by Wrigley Red Ivy is full of flat screen televisions and caters to a sports crowd. The atmosphere is very beautiful however with its multi-layered seating areas and large open spaces Red Ivy feels much bigger than it really is.

The food here isn't half bad either. Its not like some of the other places in the neighborhood but their pizza is excellent and should be ordered as much as possible by anyone who goes there.

The drinks, like all the places in this area are very overpriced but considering how nice this place is the price is worth it.
