Nice modern ultra lounge that spins house and hip-hop.

I used to love THIN on Thursdays because 4theDJ brought in excellent big name house DJs. I barely go there anymore since 4theDJ left, unless they are doing a special event. Sometimes other production companies use THIN to host local house DJ nights on Thursdays or Saturdays, but not all the time. Most of the time they play hip-hop.

THIN is an ultra lounge with one long rectangular room with modern minimalist decor. The dance floor is a decent size and even on crowded nights, you can still have room to dance towards the side or back of the club. THIN usually closes at 2am, but sometimes on Saturdays stays open till 4am for special events.

The drinks are moderately priced for downtown and the bar is long, so it's usually pretty easy to place a drink order. Admission varies depending on how famous the DJ is, if you are on the guest list, and how late you arrive. Sometimes it's free (with pass or guest list), while other times it is $10, $15, or even $20 entry.

One major complaint I have is when the club gets really packed, the A/C isn't strong enough to keep the temperature down, so it gets super hot and the small smoking patio gets super crowded cause it's too small.

Downstairs (with-in the same club) there is Onyx room. On Saturdays, Lifted Entertainment and Soul on Beat bring in house DJs. Sometimes they bring in big name DJs, mostly deep/funky house. While other times they have local DJs spinning progressive, tech, and deep house.

B-

A good bar to get down and funky, groovin' to some DJ tunes.

I've only been there on Mondays and Wednesdays and I like it mainly because it isn't a sports bar and they have house music with no cover. They usually spin progressive/electro/tech house on Mondays and deep/funky house on Wednesdays. Usually, it gets the most crowded on Wednesdays. The DJs are usually locals (no big name DJs) and are usually pretty good.

Bar D is a one room bar with roughly ten booths along two of the walls that fit about five people each. Finding an empty booth usually isn't a problem. If Wednesday, best to get there before 11pm or 11:30 to reserve one because sometimes it gets a little crowded. It's pretty dark inside, illuminated by dark red lights. The Decor is average, nothing special.

There is a lot of room to dance, but not that many people do. Usually only a quarter or less of patrons are dancing, which is good cause it makes more room for me and no one steps on my shoes.

There is a mixed crowd. Some down to earth house music lover types and others who look and act like they you fit in better somewhere playing top-40. I haven't seen any thug/ghetto types there, so that's definitely a plus.

I don't know about the price of beers, the only drink I get is a Red Bull vodka, which is $5; it comes in a short glass and is filled with a lot of ice. I recommend requesting no ice to get more for your money. Tap water is free, which is a plus. The bar closes around 1:45am.

It's nice it's right next to Lucha Libre (Mexican restaurant) and a liquor store (if you want to be a cheap-o and down a cheap drink before entering). Bar D is also within walking distance to about five other restaurants off India if you want to get some food before going dancing.

There is a sign on the door that says there is a strict dress code, but I've never seen it been enforced.

A trendy multiroom club that has good house music, as well as hip-hop, 70's/80's, and indie dance/electro

On Broadway is a large multilevel posh club that has something for everyone. It has four rooms spinning house, hip-hop, 70's/80's, and indie dance/electro. It was built in what used to house the Home Federal bank.

Millions of dollars were poured into the club and when it opened, it was San Diego's premier clubbing hot spot. Since then other high-end clubs have opened in San Diego and On Broadway has lost it's trendiness to a degree, but still remains one of San Diego's nightlife hot spots.

The main room/main event is usually house music and 4thDJ on Fridays and Event Vibe on Saturdays promote and manage the DJs.

Hi-Fi Fridays by 4thDJ bring in many excellent famous house DJs. I love how they bring in all genres of house: tech, minimal, deep, progressive, and electro. I also love their relaxed dress code.

Saturdays by Eventvibe bring more of the popular progressive or electro house DJs that you would hear at somewhere like Club Spin. They don't bring in good DJs that aren't super popular like 4thDJ does, so I don't go for Saturdays often; although sometimes I do.

On Broadway is home to the Zen Cafe, an upscale Asian restaurant that closes at 1am. If you dine at the Cafe, it allows you to enter the club for free.

There is a separate entrance for guest list east of the regular entrance. The guest list gets you in for free if you are one of the first 300 people, else the ticket price is discounted.

Pros:
-Re-entry stamps
-$5 Vodka Rockstars

Cons:
-Closes at 2am unless a special event
-Hip-hop room brings 'thug' types
-No outdoor smoking area (have to go outside)
