Best Sushi in Culver City

I would even say best sushi on the westside, but that's because of the value Sushi Karen offers. The quality (fresh and thick cuts) and service (friendly and welcoming) must have been undervalued by the owner(s) of this establishment, because the price falls between fast-food sushi and mediocre sushi restaurants.

It is easy to miss this place as it seems like half the width of a normal shop along this block. Parking is not too difficult even though there is no lot for the restaurant. You can park along Midway Ave. (which intersects Washington) and enjoy a nice stroll to sushi bliss.

Not recommended for large groups as seating is limited, but I highly recommend this for couples. Order a little bit at a time (because the thickness of their cuts may throw you) and order some hot sake to sip along with your date.

Such a find

This little gem is tucked away next to Veteran's Park in Culver City on a corner and would be unnoticed by most passersby. Their food is reasonably priced and very good. It feels like a bed and breakfast and the service is friendly and welcoming. There is no parking lot, but ample nearby parking may be found on Barman Ave. Sunday mornings are a bit crouded and their brunch includes live Jazz Music. If you plan on checking it out on a Sunday, come a bit early to find a place to park since there is a Church next door that fills the street with parked cars.

Food for the Soul

When I'm feeling blue or just blah, a stop at Roscoe's always seems to leave me feeling replenished in more than just my belly.

One of the last places where you can get a *REAL* waffle and not one of those Belgian things. I recommend including one of these treats to whatever you order. Their batter is unlike any other I've tried with hints of pumpkin spices.

Parking can be a little difficult on Sunday mornings, but the food is well worth such simple difficulties.

Make mine a double

oh... they all are.

As some previous reviews state, the drinks are poured strong. That up'd my rating just for the value alone.
;)

This was a dive-bar when I was a kid in Culver City, and it still maintains this prestige. The karaoke is loaded with drunk laughs. Bring your friends, pull up a stool and have a couple drinks (that's all it takes) to enjoy the fun.

Fun with friends

I went with a group of friends from work, and had a very nice meal. The service was very nice and the ambiance was bright and open.
